MEMBERSHIP

VNASA offers different types of memberships with specific criteria and benefits.

Ordinary Membership

Ordinary VNASA membership is open to veterinary nurses who have qualified at Onderstepoort and received a Dip.Cur.Anim or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or the Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing degree.

Associate Membership

Associate membership is available to nurses who are registered with or authorized by the SAVC (South African Veterinary Council) as Veterinary or Para veterinary professionals and hold equivalent qualifications.

Professional Associate Membership

Professional Associate Members are registered with the SAVC as veterinary nurses after successfully completing a full SAVC examination and holding equivalent qualifications. They have voting rights and can be elected to the Committee of the Association.

Inaugural Membership

Inaugural membership can be granted to individuals who qualify for registration with the SAVC as a veterinary nurse and attend the inaugural meeting of the Association. After submitting an application on the prescribed form and receiving approval from the VNASA Committee, they can become members of the Association. Inaugural members do not have voting rights.

Life Membership

Life membership is available to ordinary members who have paid membership fees for 20 consecutive years or have made a single payment in advance for 20 annual subscriptions. Life members have voting rights and are exempt from further membership fee payments.

General Membership Information

 

  • Membership is renewed annually.
  • The membership term is from May to May of the following year.
  • Membership forms must be completed, signed, and returned to VNASA each year to maintain membership status.
  • Please ensure that membership forms are completed and returned to VNASA annually to continue enjoying the benefits of membership.
